Mapu Carmenere

An intense red with a purple hue. The very fresh and fruit-forward nose reveals aromas of black berry fruit, especially blackberry, black cherry and bilberry, mingled with notes of black and green peppercorn. The fresh attack leads into a mid-palate sustained by gentle tannins as the black berry fruit flavors found on the nose return alongside delicate notes of spice. Good acidity on the well-balanced finish enhances the overall impression of freshness. Best served with beef carpaccio, paprika chicken, veal and cheeses.

Particularly hot and dry conditions in 2019 enabled the grapes to reach optimum maturity. The wine is matured in vats for a relatively short period of around six months in order to preserve all its freshness and fruit. Carmenere gives rich and slightly tannic wines with red fruit and liquorice flavors. Powerful and elegant, Carmenere wines soon reach their peak.
