Baron Phillipe Mouton Cadet Reserve Saint Emilion 2017

A glittering garnet red with a slightly crimson hue. The nose opens on spice notes,

especially Malabar pepper and cinnamon, followed with airing by ripe red and black fruit aromas, especially wild strawberry, bilberry and blackberry. A rich and very full attack onforward yet supple tannins leads into a stylish, fruit-filled mid-palate on blackberry and blackcurrant flavours, while mixed vanilla and mocha notes appear on the finish. Beef burger, vegetable tagine or assortment of cheeses. Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Soil consists of clay-limestone and sandy gravel. Throughout the vine growth cycle, Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s winemakers keep a close eye on the selected parcels and advise our partner-winegrowers on vineyard practices. The grapes from each parcel are picked at optimum maturity then vinified separately. Vinification is tailored to each vat in order to preserve the personality of each terroir and each grape variety while ensuring the roundness and smoothness typical of Réserve Mouton Cadet Saint- Emilion. Matured for 16 months with partial oaking for 4 to 6 months.
